Course Description:

This hands-on course provides a comprehensive overview of generator rewinding, focusing on key decision-making, technical processes, and cost-effective execution. Participants will learn how to evaluate insulation aging, plan and execute rewinding projects, and ensure quality throughout the process. Led by an industry expert, this training is ideal for engineers, technicians, and maintenance managers involved in generator servicing and lifecycle extension.

What You Will Learn:

 By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify signs of insulation aging and evaluate the health of generator windings.
  • Determine when & why rewinding is necessary based on technical and operational indicators.
  • Develop a technical plan for rewinding, including scheduling and task allocation.
  • Understand the winding manufacturing process, from materials to methods.
  • Estimate rewinding costs accurately, considering labor, materials, and downtime.
  • Identify required materials and workforce, and organize a qualified rewinding team.
  • Connect with supply chains and vendors for sourcing winding materials and tools.
  • Conduct proper testing and qualification to ensure rewinding quality and performance.
