Amr is a distinguished professional with a strong academic and industrial background. He earned his Ph.D. in power system optimization from Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) and graduated with honors for his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Cairo University. His research interests include power system optimization, distribution system planning and operation, and energy markets. In addition to his role as an adjunct professor at TMU, Amr has made significant contributions to collaborative projects with major industry partners in Ontario, including IESO, Alectra, Toronto Hydro, and Enwave. His current work is centered on developing innovative solutions for urban energy
systems, with a focus on energy markets and smart grid technologies. He boasts an impressive portfolio of over 30 academic and industrial publications and holds a U.S. patent. Amr’s hobbies reflect his love for both intellectual and physical pursuits. In his leisure time, he enjoys
reading, watching movies, swimming, and exploring the outdoors through biking.
