Shaahin Filizadeh received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 1996 and 1998, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, MB, Canada, in 2004. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Manitoba. From 2012 to 2019 he was the Department of ECE’s Associate Head (Graduate Programs).
Dr. Filizadeh is a Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Manitoba. He is active in several IEEE committees and is currently the Chair of the IEEE Task Force on Dynamic Phasor Modeling Techniques. He is an Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion and IEEE Power Engineering Letters, and an Associate Editor
for the IEEE Systems Journal.
