This session is designed to give participants a high-level understanding of the ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas) interconnection process. The course covers the essential steps and requirements for interconnecting new or modified generation resources to the ERCOT grid. Participants will gain insights into the regulatory framework, technical requirements, and procedural steps involved in the interconnection process.

About Ramsey Ayass:
Ramsey Ayass is an electrical power systems engineer with 15+ years of industry experience, specializing in transmission planning, generation interconnection, and distribution planning. He has held leadership roles at SDG&E and Oncor Electric Delivery and has spent the last seven years focusing on resource integration in ERCOT and CAISO.
A licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in California and Texas, Ramsey has played a key role in developing standards and procedures for integrating new generations on the TDSP side. Since 2009, he has built strong industry relationships with developers, utilities, consultants, ISOs/RTOs, and regulatory agencies.
Ramsey is currently the Senior Vice President of Grid Strategy at SMT Energy, supporting the deployment of utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS).
